CMS actively participates in regional and international organization activities, including organizing international conferences, intercomparisons, exchanging scientists and researchers, mutual visits, and so on. CMS staffs are encouraged to promote international conformance with other NMIs and have been elected as the Executive Committee member and the Chair of Technical Committee for Length in the Asia-Pacific Metrology Programme. Technical consultance had ever been offered to the metrology institutes of the Dominican Republic and Thailand .
In 2002, 'Chinese Taipei' was approved to be an Associate to CGPM and signed the global Mutual Recognition Arrangement, which aims to provide recognition of calibration and measurement certificates issued by national metrology institutes. It is a milestone for overcoming technical barriers to international trade.
